Our  June 12th Book Tasting will include 3 special Founding Era tables, one of which will be hosted by founding father, John Adams, played by Gary E. Mitchell, of Gem Theatrics in Grand Rapids. Mitchell is a Distinguished Adjunct Faculty member for Legal Studies at Davenport University, and the book selections at his table will focus on the founding era.

We will have another table hosted by Kurt Troutman, whose books will focus specifically on Alexander Hamilton, and the various roles he played in the founding of the United States.

A third table at the Book Tasting will be hosted by Nancy McCarthy. McCarthy is one of the original facilitators of Community Gathering Initiative (CGI) in Muskegon County.  CGI was created in order to develop opportunities to have conversations about race in our history and in our current perspective. Her book table will feature books on the topic of race and slavery.
