Limited Checkouts October 28 and 29

The library will be placing a temporary limit on checkouts later this month while we undergo some much-needed computer system maintenance. Beginning at 5 pm Monday, October 28, and continuing throughout the day on Tuesday, October 29, cardholders will only be able to check out three items per day. Our circulation program will be down, leaving us without access to all the normal functions like checking books in or out, placing holds, or searching for items.  We will use a temporary work-around so you can check out the books you need, but it involves entering all the barcodes by hand once the system is back online, which is why we are asking that you limit your checkouts during this time.

The library will remain open normal hours throughout the maintenance, and our Play & Learn programs will be held as usual on Tuesday (10:15 and 6:15; lots of free fun for the little ones!).  Our internet will be up and running, too, so come on in if you need to use a computer or connect to our WiFi.

A special note for our digital download patrons: with the circulation system offline, your access to services like Overdrive/Libby and RBdigital will also be interrupted.  Since these apps will not be able to verify your account, you will not be able to log in to check out or download new titles.  You should be able to access any titles you have already downloaded, though.

Free Computer Coaching Available at the Library!

Looking for help setting up an email account?  Want to learn how to surf the web?  Feeling frustrated with your tablet or smartphone?  Give our new computer coach a try!  Aimee Postma will be available for one-on-one coaching sessions on a variety of topics (and a variety of devices) on Monday and Thursday afternoons beginning October 21.  Call or stop by the library to schedule your free 45-minute appointment.
